One of the most common anxieties among competitive swimmers is that their goggles may blow out during a crucial race dive. At the Beijing Olympics, it happened to Michael Phelps in the 200m butterfly, severely blinding him for the final 150 meters of the race.
Speedo and their FastSkin3 Elite goggles have attempted to alleviate this worry with something they call IQ Fit 3D, which was developed after scanning thousands of faces and heads at their Aqualab research facility in the United Kingdom. The result is a seal that hugs the eye socket and provides a snug, comfortable fit.
These goggles have a thin profile and are designed to work with the Speedo LZR Racer X Fastskin kneeskins and Speedo LZR Racer X jammers, which are all part of the FastSkin racing system.
